In January 2026 we finalized our Strategic Plan!
The 5-year strategic plan is a living document that helps guide our practitioners, programs, and larger working group as we work toward the New Mexico TFFWG’s mission and healthier Tribal communities.
Our Approach
Our strategic plan design kick off started at the TFFWG Summit in 2025, where we convened a world cafe session with a large group of Tribal practitioners, NGOs, and Agencies to identify and discuss tribal fire and forestry priorities for this working group. Followed by additional in-person sessions and group-wide review process, we developed 4 pillars to guide our goals and strategic actions. Those pillars are Indigenous-led Stewardship and Traditional Ecological Knowledge, Capacity Building, Collaboration and Engagement, and Natural Resource Development.
