About

The Tribal Fire & Forestry Working Group (TFFWG) is a network of Tribal fire and forestry practitioners dedicated to knowledge-sharing, resource exchange, and collaboration in wildland fire and forest management. Representing 19 Pueblos and 3 Tribal Nations across New Mexico, we work to strengthen Indigenous leadership in restoring and protecting our lands.

Through strategic partnerships with government agencies and nonprofits, TFFWG advances Indigenous-led stewardship to create fire-adapted landscapes and resilient ecosystems. By integrating Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) with modern forestry practices, we ensure the long-term health of our forests, watersheds, and communities.
